Driving ASEAN-UK Economic Cooperation Forward: From Plans to Action
Important discussions took place at the 2nd meeting of the Project Steering Committee of the ASEAN-UK Economic Integration Programme (EIP) on 13 May 2026.
Co-chaired by ASEAN Economic Coordinator for the UK, Jollan Llaneza of the Philippines, and the EIP SRO, Kenn Especkerman-True, the meeting highlighted programme implementation progress, updates on ongoing projects, and actionable work plans for 2026–2027.
Key focus areas included:
• Delivering against ASEAN-UK shared priorities regionally through pilots and targeted interventions
• Keeping projects under the EIP outcome-driven and measurable with a clear feedback loop and evaluation
• Strengthening collaboration between ASEAN and the UK on future economic cooperation
The meeting also noted the exciting news about the opening of the EIP Office at the ASEAN Secretariat Heritage Building, last April— another step toward adeeper partnership and stronger regional cooperation.
The attendees appreciated the constructive discussions and shared commitment from all parties involved. All are looking forward to the next steps ahead.
